W A De Silva & Co, the official agent for Longines watches in Sri Lanka announced Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aishwarya Rai’s attendance at the opening ceremony of Glasgow 2014, the XX Commonwealth Games.

Longines was the official timekeeper and watch of the games. The Swiss watch brand is also the presenting partner of the gymnastics competitions.

Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aishwarya Rai attended the opening ceremony together with Walter von Känel, President of Longines.

Longines provided more than 190 timekeepers and 122 tonnes of equipment to support the event.

The official watch of Glasgow 2014 is a chronograph in steel from the Conquest Classic collection, housing an exclusive mechanical column-wheel calibre. With a diameter of 41 mm, its black dial is set with one Arabic numeral and 11 applied indices with Super-LumiNova®.

Longines’ involvement in the Commonwealth Games dates back to 1962, when it was the timekeeper of the event in Perth, Australia.
