The Volkswagen Beetle Owners Club held its 13th Pride of Ownership drive, which is the main event in the club’s calendar. Beetles of all ages and shades flocked from all parts of the country to this annual event.
Peter Jasinghe, President – Volkswagen Beetle Owners Club said, “this strength-through-joy car absolutely brings joy to all of us who own it and it has been loved by all generations.”
Furthermore, with World Volkswagen Day scheduled to be celebrated on June 24 at Mount Lavinia Hotel, Anura Dewapura, the hotel’s General Manager said, “naturally, we’re very proud of our heritage – few car manufacturers have produced so many legendary cars as Volkswagen. We think the best way to honour this legend is to celebrate it at the hotel. Its pioneering efforts to sustainability and eco-friendliness are just up our street hence which is why we are proud to celebrate World Volkswagen Day, the only car that has an international significance.”
