Vision Care launched a Mobile Optical unit – Eyes on Wheels, which extends eye care services to corporates at their premises. This service evaluates whether the vision of employees are up to the standard vision requirements, giving them the benefit of accuracy and productivity in their occupations.
The unit comprises professionally qualified optometrists, dispensing opticians and is equipped with modern optometric eye equipment. This Mobile Optical Service offers vision screening (distant and near) to identify and correct refractive errors. This includes, color vision screening, binocular vision testing and inner eye examination. If eye or vision abnormalities are found, they are referred to eye care professionals at the Vision Care Ocular Investigation Unit.
The mobile optical unit can cater to 100 people per day and offers the facility to upgrade existing optical lenses or order new spectacles. Corporates can also use the services of Vision Care Mobile Optical Services to conduct CSR activities amongst the Sri Lankan community.
Priyanka Perera, Manager, Human Resources, Orel IT, one of the corporates who obtained this service said, “We have more than 4,500 employees. As a result of being in the IT sector, a majority of our members spend many hours of the day seated in front of a computer screen. With the presence of Vision Care Mobile Optical Services, our locations at Maharagama, Meegoda, Kadawatha, Galle and Kurunegala, we were able to organize an annual eye campaign for our employees to provide them with optical solutions along with an eye care awareness program to help in their job roles.”
