Coco Royal Beach, which is managed by Lion Royal, is spread over a one-acre beachfront property. The hotel consists of four wings, three of them are arranged in a U-shape around a verdant courtyard that leads to the pool and the Indian Ocean beyond.
The extensive restaurant which serves a range of Sri Lankan and Western cuisine faces the reception area in the lobby of the main wing. Lit up by strategically placed lights, the interior is a cozy and comfortable setting where diners can relish their meals.
As the guest approaches the short flight of stairs that leads to the courtyard, the main bar of the hotel is visible through the glass partition. The blue-hued furniture along with the pillars and ceiling painted in similar shades, create a bright atmosphere. The outdoor pool bar offers a more relaxed ambience. Guests can also enjoy a game of table tennis or carom.
The lush greenery of coconut trees and the well-tended grass of the courtyard contrasts vividly with the three-feet deep pool. Sun loungers placed underneath the shade of a grove of seashore pandan (wetakeiya) plants nearby are perfect to relax and listen to the rhythmic sound of the waves. The soft and powdery sand leads to the glittering Indian Ocean.
Coco Royal Beach comprises 70 spacious rooms. While three wings largely offer views of the courtyard, a separate fourth wing, accessible through a staircase near the main bar, provides stunning vistas of the Indian Ocean. Private terraces at ground level and balconies for the rooms above this level are ideal for guests to enjoy the fresh sea breeze.
The banquet hall situated on the first floor of the main wing provides a comfortable setting to host a wedding or corporate event. On the second floor, a gym is available for guests to continue their exercise routines while on vacation. The spa within the hotel premises offers a range of treatments, helping the guests to rejuvenate.
Coco Royal Beach also organizes excursions for guests, while theme nights at the restaurant provide a lively ambiance for guests in the hotel. A souvenir shop is also situated on the lawn.
