The premier duty free store at Bandaranaike International Airport introduced ‘Staff Champions’, a new staff recognition programme this year. Four sales teams compete on a quarterly basis and the first batch of winners were recognised at a function held recently.
“The new ‘Staff Champions’ programme and continued product and service training programmes will make the Autogrill staff go the extra mile” Dimantha Kinigama, Chief Executive Officer of Autogrill Lanka commented at the Awards Ceremony. Geeth Karunaratne, the Head of Commercial and Properties for Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) was also present and appreciated the initiatives taken by Autogrill Lanka.
The team led by Dileepa Perera, a Sales Manager, emerged victorious and his two Supervisors, Resiri Fernandopulle and Chamli Ranasinghe were selected as the Staff Champions of Duty Manager and Supervisor categories respectively.
Also, W K N S Malkanthi, Malaka Fernando and Amila Saparamadu were adjudged the Staff Champions of the ‘Beauty Advisor/Brand Ambassador’, ‘Customer Service Assistant’ and ‘Stock Checker / Store Assistant’ categories respectively.
Malaka Fernando was selected as the ‘Overall Staff Champion’ for the third quarter, 2011. The selection criteria involved both quantitative and qualitative matrixes, which were monitored and summed up.
