The Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) launched the business centre of Ceylon Tea Moments at the Grand Stand, Racecourse Complex, Colombo 7. The Chief Guest, First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa, graced the opening ceremony and officially declared open the centre. Janaki Kuruppu, Chairperson – SLTB was also present at the ceremony.
Fully owned by the SLTB, Ceylon Tea Moments is managed by SriLankan Catering. Once the model is tried and tested in Colombo, SLTB plans to expand Ceylon Tea Moments to other strategic tourist locations. Based on local success, the SLTB plans to extend the concept overseas for many of the Ceylon Tea lovers outside of Sri Lanka through franchise operations.
