The latest addition to Colombo’s mix of stores and cafés is Domus, which will be open to the public from April 8, monday to saturday from 10 am to 7 pm. Located at No 34, 27th Lane, Colombo 3, Domus is a multi-faceted place – including a café, an art gallery featuring paintings and sculptures of local artists, a showroom and store of designer furniture and accessories as well as their primary focus as an interior design company.
“We specialise in a range of items, but I think our custom made furniture is probably one of the features we are popular for,” said Prasad, Chairman of Domus. Among the furniture which are designed by Prasad and made to order by skilled craftsman in their workshop/studio, are exquisite items inlaid with gold, silver or copper leaf as well as Decoupage pieces. “The Decoupage furniture is unique to us, I don’t believe there is anyone else in Sri Lanka creating this style of furniture,” he added.
The showroom also features other furniture such as nesting tables, cupboards, occasional tables, sofas and even footstools. Soft furnishings and accessories such as curtains, throw cushions and designer lamps and lighting features are also found here.
Visitors will discover a range of accessories that can enhance their home or make the perfect gift.
