The plus size clothing store Double XL celebrated their fourth anniversary with children of SOS Children’s Village in Piliyandala. The initiative, partnering with SOS Children’s Village, came as the first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of Double XL.
The directors of Double XL, Priyan Senarath Gamage, Adhisha Senarath Gamage and Deminthe Harshan Dahanayake mentioned in their Directors’ Message, “Double XL has arrived upon a decision to give back to the society in celebration of our fourth anniversary. We hope to launch our first CSR Project in cooperation with the SOS Children’s Villages in Sri Lanka which have been and still is eminent in the functions of child welfare and child rights protection throughout the country. A country is a tree that grows only from its roots, the children and thus, what better way is there to serve the society in which we live in than to serve our children?”
Speaking about the partnership with Double XL, Sankha Wanniatchi, Assistant Director in Fund Development and Communications – SOS Children’s Villages said, “Double XL is partnering with SOS. We have been here for 32 years and we have over 41,000 children around Sri Lanka. There is a need. What we are trying to do with these partnerships is to collect more funds so that we could actually help more and more children in Sri Lanka.”
