HNB extended their patronage as a lead sponsor of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) for 2010.
Speaking to the media, R Theagarajah, Managing Director/CEO of HNB stated that, as a leading commercial bank operating in the financial sector, HNB has identified participating in education initiatives as a key aspect of its corporate social responsibility initiatives and that they take pride in being a lead sponsor of ICASL. He added that HNB as an employer has benefited by the pool of accounting professionals produced by ICASL and the professional standards maintained by the Institute, therefore, partnering with ICASL was an opportunity for HNB to develop both the profession and national education.
Sujeewa Mudalige, President, ICASL expressing his views stated that the continuous patronage extended by HNB is an endorsement of the Institute’s quest to serving society by promoting and developing accounting expertise towards resource management at the highest level of integrity and competence.
