Tharanga Herath holds his solo Wildlife and Nature exhibition at Lionel Wendt Art Center. Tharanga is a passionate Naturalist and self-taught wildlife artist enriched with knowledge of Sri Lankan wildlife gained through his field studies, observations, and research since childhood.
Tharanga is an internationally recognized Sri Lankan artist who has had the privilege of being selected and showcasing his artworks at international art events besides accepting commissions. Tharanga had the great opportunity to display five of his paintings among the 130 artworks of 29 acclaimed artists worldwide at the Art & Vielfalt wildlife art exhibition held at the Museum of Natural History in Magdeburg, Germany, in 2018 as the sole Asian.
He reached the finalist stage in Russia’s Golden Turtle 2019 International Art contest held in Moscow and St. Pietersburg, among the 30 finalists of those 1261 artists worldwide registered in the competition. He also appeared in the Mandala International Wildlife Art Exhibition held in Singapore in 2015.
Qualified as a Fisheries and Marine Science graduate, he has been engaged in marine environment and wildlife conservation projects. He is a professional in wildlife–and nature-based tourism in Sri Lanka.
