Dialog Axiata joined hands with the Hatton National Bank (HNB) and Deutsche Bank in introducing the country’s first mobile Money Service presented under the brand name eZ Cash. After registering for the service by dialing #111#, eZ Cash mobile subscribers can maintain a mobile money account in their mobile phones and conduct various money transactions through these accounts.
“We are privileged to have the opportunity to lead Sri Lanka’s mobile industry into the era of Mobile Money – an era which will see the mobile phone become a versatile cash transacting and payment instrument,” said Dr Hans Wijaysuriya, Director/Group Chief Executive – Dialog Axiata.
Transactions are protected by a subscriber defined PIN number, secured by 3DES authentication and transaction Security protocols. “We are happy to be a partner in this journey and facilitate Dialog in achieving their objectives and goals as the Custodian Bank,” said Nihal Kekulawala, Senior Deputy General Manager, Strategy – HNB.
A registered eZ Cash subscriber can load money in to his/her mobile phone at any one of over 10,000 eZ Cash outlets across Sri Lanka.
