Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo celebrated World Environment Day by dedicating the month of June to sustainable initiatives.
A film on the ‘Preservation of our Planet’ was screened at the staff cafeteria along with a quiz encouraging associates to get involved and learn about the importance of caring for the environment. Additionally the Hotel had a seminar where a guest speaker addressed employees and answered environment related questions.
The entire hotel was involved in the commemoration, with staff creating an eco friendly banner that was displayed outside Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.
The hotel follows a set of Green Globe initiatives. Furthermore it has an Electronic Waste Programme and a towel and linen re-use programme while the hotel also collects and uses rain water for gardening.
The Hotel plans to support the UN’s Environmental drive further and it aims to spread the word through CSR activities in the neighbouring schools, working towards beautifying the environment and being community friendly.
