Olga Alava, Miss Earth 2011 visited Sri Lanka and was given a tour of the country by Daya Holidays. Among the places she visited were the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and the city of Kandy where she was hosted at the Chaaya Citadel Kandy. She also visited the 134th Battle of the Blues between Royal College and St. Thomas College, as she was keen to watch a game of cricket.
Isuru Wijeratne, Director and Dharshana Silva, Manager of Daya Holidays organised this tour with the assistance of Sajeewa Perera and Arosha Pananwala, General Managers of Cinnamon Hotels. Elvis Joseph, Director – Bangalore School’s and Sports Foundation accompanied Miss Earth during the tour.
Olga Alava was visiting Sri Lanka to participate in a local beauty pageant.
Born in Ecuador, Olga has a Bachelors degree in International Business and speaks Spanish, Mandarin and English. She was crowned Miss Earth in 2011, being the first delegate from Ecuador to do so.
