J M Wickramarachchi and Company introduced an improved and efficient hearing aid using Siemens’ Micon technology to Sri Lanka at an event presided by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa. Micon technology offers natural sound and sophisticated, personalised functions so that wearers will experience the joy of hearing effortlessly in any soundscape. Higher resolution and improved algorithms offer the most natural, personalised and comfortable sound on the market with unprecedented clarity. “What we see here may be a wonder of technology, but what is very important is that Siemens uses this technology and enables people to participate again in the community, participate in social life,” said Dr Jurgen Morhard, the German Ambassador, speaking at the launch. “To use Micon technology, and to teach children how to use this, it is necessary to do a speech audio gram test. This was not available in Sri Lanka,” said Mihira Wickramarachchi, President of J M Wickramarachchi and Company. “We have introduced a speech audio test standard, and we developed this test some years ago, and it has now been approved by many academics and therapists and is now an accepted tool for speech testing,” he added. A token of appreciation was presented to First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa by Siemens, as part of the launch event. [nggallery id=551]
