The veteran businessman Upali Dharmadasa assumed office as the Chairman of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) earlier this month, amidst simple ceremonial rituals.
A high profile industrialist who made his mark among the country’s top business community, Dharmadasa brings with him many decades of business management experience and expertise. Currently he holds the positions of Managing Director of Nawaloka Group of Companies and is also Chairman of Sri Lanka Timber Merchant’s Association and he had served on the Industrial Development Board as a Director.
Upali Dharmadasa has also contributed to Sri Lanka’s Cricketing arena immensely during his tenure as President of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) and as the President of Sri Lanka Cricket. Additionally, he also serves currently as the Honorary Consul General for the Kingdom of Morocco in Sri Lanka.
