The International Hotel School of Mount Lavinia Hotel or the IHS felicitated new graduates at the 2017 IHS Graduation Ceremony held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel (MLH).
Apart from the 61 students who were awarded general certificates, 16 students specialised in Food & Beverage, Pastry & Bakery, Kitchen, International Cookery, Management Operations and Accommodation.
M J Muzni received the accolade for The Most Outstanding Graduate. Kishu Gomes, Managing Director/CEO, Chevron Lubricants Lanka was the Chief Guest at the graduation ceremony. Bazeer Cassim, General Manager, MLH Group, Deshabandhu Chef Publis Silva, Director of the Culinary Affairs, MLH and Harinda Weerasinghe, the Resident Manager, MLH were the Guests of Honour.
IHS has been producing quality hoteliers in Sri Lanka for 26 years. “We specialise in bespoke hoteliers. Our aim is to train the youth from the base level to a better source of income”, explained Ravi Magedera, Principal, IHS. Established in 1991, IHS is the only hotel school in the Island affiliated to a functioning hotel. Thus, IHS certificates are well-recognised globally.
