Chef Weeraman, Master Sculptor at Cinnamon Grand, produced an award winning entry at the Annual Culinary Awards, where he received the coveted Gold Excellence Award. “There is always something new to learn from your work,” he reflected and added, “That is why the appeal of putting your heart and soul into a creation, will never fade away.” Ever the wildlife art aficionado, Weeraman drew inspiration for his masterpiece from a documentary feature on the National Geographic Channel. “It was a Harris Hawk at prey,” he recalls, “and the image seemed very powerful to me. We were not instructed to work to any particular theme for the competition, so I felt that the theme of nature would be an apt one.” After all the time spent hard at work sketching, experimenting and sculpting, the result of Weeraman’s efforts took the entire competition by storm.
