‘Relaxation’ is the theme that echoes through the plush interior of Araliya Green City. Escaping the misty climes of the hills, the warmth of the interior and welcome by staff sets you at ease.

The lobby is grand and comfortable with French-inspired furniture and chesterfield sofas. Majestic elephants, a striking traditional oil lamp and delicate Araliya flowers represent the splendour of Sri Lanka. A hot cuppa of aromatic honeyed herbal tea, served on arrival, is rejuvenating. Guests can linger at the Lobby Lounge at any time of the day, enjoying a refreshing brew of Pure Ceylon Tea.

The Araliya Green City hotel has a unique concept as envisioned by Dudley Sirisena, Chairman, Araliya Group of Companies. Understanding the distinct requirements of tourists to Nuwara Eliya, it is designed to offer comfort and convenience for all types of guests, from families to dewy-eyed honeymooners to groups of adventure-seeking friends. Thus, the 192-room hotel has 63 apartment-style suites, aside from well-equipped rooms.

Each suite is lavishly furnished with windows opening out to the mesmerising hillside. The Royal Suite with two bedrooms is quite opulent. A Victorian and Baroque theme echoes through the space. The bedroom, dining and living areas are splendid with elaborate furniture, embroidered and tasseled cushions and plush silken bed linen. The kitchenette is spacious and contemporary with modern equipment. The two large bathrooms are the very definition of luxury with Jacuzzis and opulent bath amenities of organic virgin coconut.

Surrounded by the lush green beauty of the hills and providing guests high-end experiences, Araliya Green City creates the perfect ambience for a memorable getaway in the hills.

The Premier, Executive and Junior Suites are sumptuous with teak furniture and are decorated in a rich green hue. A leisurely vibe fills these rooms. The Premier and Executive Suites with a kitchenette and living area offer the option of either one or two bedrooms. The Executive category further includes a caretaker’s room. The Junior Suite, also called ‘Studio Apartment’, is ideal for couples holidaying in the salubrious hills. Echoing the deluxe theme, the single and double rooms too are designed to ensure a comfortable and pampered getaway. A novel room category is the Quadruple Room perfect for a family or group of four.

A warm welcome at the lobby with majestic elephants and the iconic traditional oil lamp

The Magnolia Bungalow, with five-rooms, is another option available for guests. The ambience of the bungalow with rare magnolia trees, imitates the charming character of ‘Little England’.

At Araliya Green City guests are provided a well-curated international culinary journey that features the best of international as well as Sri Lankan flavours. ‘Fresh N Warm’, the main restaurant, offers a delicious spread – a multi-cuisine buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner to satisfy your cravings in the cold weather.

One can also choose to dine at the Food Court, which has sections specialising in Sri Lankan, Indian, Arabic, South East Asian and Western cuisine. Cute and colourful delicacies beckon from the patisserie; each an ideal treat for the sweet tooth. Amidst views of the evergreen nature of Nuwara Eliya, diners can choose to grab a quick bite or sit by the windows relishing coffee and snacks. If you choose to prepare a meal in your suite, you will find all the ingredients conveniently stocked at the Minimart of Araliya Greeen City. Set within a beautifully-manicured blossom garden and overlooking the verdant Victoria Park, the Shisha Lounge at the patio is a dreamy place to unwind. High-tea is served on request at the ‘Single Tree View Point’, which looks out to a breathtaking scene of the mountain ranges.

The lavishly furnished Quadruple Room

Araliya Green City has many facilities, ensuring that all the desires of guests are taken care of. For those who wish to follow their fitness routine while on holiday, there is a hotel gym equipped with the latest strength and cardiovascular machines. The heated rooftop pool is ideal for a relaxing plunge, after which one can relish a beverage at the Aqua Splash Pool Bar while enjoying a bird’s-eye view of the Nuwara Eliya town. Guests can also pamper themselves in utmost comfort at The Pearl Spa. Offering soothing treatments and a sauna, it exemplifies sensual indulgence. The Grand City Ballroom is elegant and festive, catering to up to 400 guests. Intimate weddings can also be organised at the Magnolia Bungalow garden with a backdrop of the misty Single Tree mountain range.

Surrounded by the lush green beauty of the hills and providing guests high-end experiences, Araliya Green City creates the perfect ambience for a memorable getaway in the hills. Rest, relax and be pampered with the very best of hospitality and cuisine in Nuwara Eliya.
