The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club hosted the 114th Burdett and 80th Puffin Cup on their home course this year. The inaugural Burdett was held in 1902 by Sir Francis Burdett as a challenge cup for annual competition between the team representatives of the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club and the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
In 1936, C M Puffin Lushington presented the ‘Puffin Cup’ which is an annual competition between the ladies of both clubs. Alongside this tournament was the Masters and the 125th Anniversary competitions. The event was sponsored by Dialogue
