Cinnamon Grand Colombo’s staff showcased their talents at the 20th Marie Brizard Cocktail Competition, Colombo District Finals, last week by securing the highest number of entries to participate at the overall All Island Marie Brizard Cocktail Competition. This is the first time in the history of the competition, that one hotel, has been able to garner the highest number of entries for the overall competition.
Cinnamon Grand shone in the ‘Classical’ category by winning the first, second, fourth and fifth positions in the competition. R A Thanushi Perera of the Courtyard Restaurant won the ‘Best Classical Cocktail’ for her creation of ‘Shades of Pink’. M D Sampath of Chutneys was placed second whilst the fourth and fifth positions went to P Karunarathna of the Tea Lounge and K Nisansala Alwis of the Taprobane.
In the ‘Flaring’ category, Cinnamon Grand associates E Cheshan Buddhika of Breeze Bar and P P Pradeep K Jayasooriya of Banquets won fourth and fifth place respectively.
