The sands of time lie suspended in an era between the 17th and 18th centuries within the Dutch Museum in Colombo. Walking through the gigantic main doorway the loud chatter, honking cars and the pandemonium of traffic in Prince Street, Pettah is left behind as you enter an age of the Dutch VOC that invaded Ceylon’s coasts with their powerful naval fleets in search of commercial gain.
