A popular hotel among both local and foreign wildlife enthusiasts, Elephant Reach in Yala celebrated their seventh year anniversary recently.
Instead of a gala event to celebrate the anniversary, the Hotel organised community outreach events with projects such as distributing educational equipment and uniforms among school children in the area. The Hotel also invited students from several schools to the hotel for a sightseeing tour and hosted them for a sumptuous lunch.
The manner in which Elephant Reach celebrated their seventh anniversary was appreciated by the Chief Guest of the occasion, Wijith Wijayamuni Soyza, Minister of Wildlife Resources Conservation. He noted that it was admirable of the Hotel to use the budget for the celebrations in a way that would aid in the welfare and betterment of the pupils of the schools in the area.
The anniversary celebrations also included felicitation of the services of several employees who had worked in the Hotel since inception. Present at the ceremony were also Malinga Fernando, Director – Lanka Hotels and Travels and Clement Fernando, Managing Director, Patricia Fernando, Directress and Timothy Paldano, General Manager. They were also part of the team who organised the anniversary celebrations.
