Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology (LIFT) is at a new environment in Horton Place, Colombo 07. Nurturing young creative minds for over 11 years LIFT has carved its niche in the country for training fashion designers. The institute at its new location offers more facilities and opportunities for students in a calm and quiet environment that is ideal for designers.
Since its inception, Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology’s only objective has been to develop fashion education and promote students who become designers at a worldclass level. LIFT as an Institute is committed to the cause of churning fashion professionals to meet the demand of reputed fashion houses, Export houses, boutiques and the budding designers who come out with their own labels. The institute has its own unique way to meet the interest in the fashion community.
Courses offered at LIFT have a unique balance in practicals and theory and include the Advanced Diploma in fashion design course for students who have completed their O/L ‘s covering basics to advanced levels of all design and production related subjects. LIFT also offers weekend courses providing the rare opportunity for working individuals to gain professional qualifications in fashion design.
The latest addition to LIFT is LIFT Designer Wear, the exclusive designer boutique, which will be launching its first label Niro & Nelo in June 2011. It is located at the same institute premises. LIFT students will have greater opportunities through this boutique in the future.
