The scholarship program seeks to empower exceptional Sri Lankan nationals, aged 14-18 who exhibit extraordinary academic ability and social responsibility. It is a gateway to a comprehensive academic program that enhances student’s knowledge, critical thinking, and leadership skills for the future.
The students selected for the program are entitled to follow the globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, which has the widest reach for entry to all national university systems world-wide, and is much sought after by the world’s best universities. It also allows the student to engage in a range of extracurricular activities that encourage student- initiated projects and compete in inter- school sporting events in the South Asian and Middle Eastern region. Scholarship offers will be made on the basis of results at an entrance examination, formal interview as well as an analysis of past academic results. The potential for special contributions back to the OSC community and English Language proficiency are also essential. In addition to that, the success in the IB Program will be assessed including commitment to studying a broad range of subjects and enthusiastic involvement in the Creativity – Activity – Service program.
