Robert Sledgely a British artist living in Spain held a water colour painting exhibition at the S H Sarath Artists’ Gallery. The exhibition depicted captivating scenes from Sri Lanka starting from roadside kiosks, street scenes, patched up windows, hoardings to green landscapes. The artist has taken buildings as his main motif and he has captured quaint scenes and colour patterns that usually evade us. Some of the paintings feature scenes from Sea Street to Damm Street, Pettah, Meat and Fish Stall, Haputale, Cafe, Deva Veediya, Simple Home, Sangaraja Mawatha, Kandy and Dancing Trees, Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya.
