The National Telecommunication Service Provider, Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Urban Development Authority (UDA), undertaking to build ICT infrastructure facilities for seven new condominiums to be constructed in urban areas.
Under the MoU, SLT becomes the exclusive telecommunication service provider for these urban development projects. SLT will be providing services via both fibre connectivity as well as copper lines.
“We have embarked on this landmark agreement with SLT after much thought and consideration. Being the national telecommunication service provider in the country, we have first-hand experience with SLT’s level of expertise and high level of service excellence. Therefore, we are confident of SLT’s credibility and ability to provide high quality services that will cater to the ICT requirements expected for these housing projects”, said Jagath Nandana Munasinghe, the Chairman, UDA.
P G Kumarasinghe Sirisena, Chairman, SLT speaking at the event, stated. “This is a great opportunity for Sri Lanka Telecom to serve the community in a novel way by constructing as well as maintaining ICT infrastructure for a project of this magnitude.”
He further stated that, “As the exclusive telecommunication service provider, we will be providing total ICT services such as fixed line, broadband, PEO TV, CCTV as well as other smart building solutions for all the projects including the common areas of the condominiums. “This project includes providing ICT solutions to all the tenants of the seven condominiums and to the building management. We are really excited about this venture and we are greatly looking forward to provide SLT solutions to ensure the greatest experience to the residents”.
