Observing the intricate pieces of art on the wood from afar, I struggled to fathom its technique. At first glance, each figure, creature and landscape, seemed as if photographed or carved on to the wood, with their details and grandeur acutely captured by the craftsman. Yet, this was not a mere photograph or woodcarving; instead, it was a form of craft done by burning designs on wood.
