Six Sri Lankan Luxury Hotels swept the board at the World Luxury Hotel Awards gala ceremony at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the collaboration of ITB Asia and France24, in October. The winners of the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2012 CONTINENT (Asia/Indian Ocean) Award were, Brook Boutique Hotel and Spa, Melsiripura: Best Luxury Country Hotel, The Fortress Resort and Spa: Luxury Coastal Resort, Casa Colombo: Luxury Boutique Hotel and The Elephant Corridor: Luxury Family Hotel. The country winners were, Maalu Maalu Resort and Spa: New Luxury Hotel and Ulagalla Resort: Luxury Boutique Hotel.
Guests’ votes, travel industry consultants, an international panel of judges and ‘mystery guest’ visits selected the best of the best. Luxury facilities, standards and luxury service delivery were considered, according to Marinique De Wet, Director, World Luxury Hotel andSpa Awards.
