The aroma of coffee and warmth of fresh bakes whiffs through the air. Cupcakes decorated with delicate flowers, truffles trickling with chocolate, cakes radiant with colour and stunning cake structures, fill the displays. Cheesecakes with raspberry toppings and rich gateaux tease all the senses. Soft pastries with a silken gleam, artistically created Danishes and doughnuts, tasty muffins and crispy savouries, there’s a range of goodies to suit any palette.

Café KAI at the Hilton Colombo is the perfect place to treat your sweet tooth, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, or grab a quick scrumptious snack.

The ambience is a delightful fusion of stylish, relaxing and enthusing. Designed with a contemporary flare and soothing shades, the spacious patisserie complements Hilton Colombo’s elegant, new look and feel.

“The concept is simple; it’s grab and go. Each morning our team bakes a selection of cakes and pastries; as well as prepares savoury items such as sandwiches and wraps. There is no menu, the customer selects what’s on display, orders a beverage and waits till their order is ready. With Café KAI we are creating an international café experience, whilst also serving delicious delicacies prepared to the highest standards”, says Chef Kazi Hassan, Executive Chef, Hilton Colombo.

Café KAI has a stylish and relaxing ambience

Open from 7am, its an ideal location to start your day with a wholesome breakfast and cup of tea or coffee. Amidst the truly international spread, relish the taste of Sri Lanka and try the fish buns. The breakfast selection is also enriched with options such as homemade mixed fruit yogurt, multigrain bagels, rye bread as well as wholemeal bread. Sandwiches and wraps at Café KAI celebrate favourite flavours such as roast beef, smoked salmon, ham and cheese or cheese and tomato. The mini pizzas, tortillas and cutlets will surely satisfy your midday hunger pangs. Their fresh salads including garden salads and Caesar salads are also great for a healthy and refreshing lunch. If there’s only time to make a purchase, then opt for their snack boxes.

Kazi Hassan, Executive Chef, Hilton Colombo

“‘KAI’ has different meanings in different languages, all of which we have interpreted to craft the café’s unique identity. Ingredients are sourced globally as we serve only the best and ensure value for money. It is also the hotel’s first dining location with the carbon footprint being reduced by 90 per cent,” adds Tatyana Perera, Restaurant Manager, Café KAI.

Cakes at the Hilton Colombo’s patisserie are a delicious favourite. While there are amazing options on offer for a quick pick-up, if you require something special or larger quantities an order would need to be placed before hand. With 24-hours notice, delivery can be arranged. As part of its hope to bring a world-class café experience to Colombo, Café KAI offers a wonderful array of homemade chocolates. If you require something extra-special to treat a loved one or even yourself, select from their range of premium handcrafted chocolates from across the world including Belgian, Japan and England.

Café KAI promises a relaxed and authentic experience, where customers are efficiently served flavoursome delicacies from around the globe.
