Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo restored the local children’s park in Slave Island providing the children in the areas surrounding their Hotel with an inspiring area to play, learn and grow. Every department of the Hotel volunteered in rebuilding the park and actively took part in mowing grass, clearing drains, sandpapering and painting with swings and seesaws being repaired by the engineering crew. The highlight of the park was a life-sized elephant that was revived from its tired state, much to the children’s delight.
Standing by the Hotel’s firm belief that charity should begin close to home, this is just one of a series of investments the hotel has made in the local community. Previous initiatives include fitting a fully equipped computer room in a local school, providing sewing machines to another and books to the library of yet another.
