The legendary Grand Oriental Hotel partnered with the Mighty Mini Club of Sri Lanka for the first time to host a Mini Cooper Car Parade, which saw the participation of nearly 40 Mini jCoopers on a short tour. The owners of the classic cars drove in style approaching the hotel and the mini parade took the route from GOH passing along Galle Face Green towards Colpetty round-about, Bishop’s College and the towards Slave Island. It returned to the hotel after a joyful parade drawing many witnesses along the route.
The Mini Cooper Car Parade was held to promote the British Food Festival, which was held at Harbour Room restaurant with live music and action stations serving authentic British cuisine. Diners were treated to special offers on beverages and Mini car owners enjoyed special rates as well. The promotion and parade were organized primarily to bring awareness and promote the hotel industry. The car owners and their families enjoyed the afternoon amidst an environment of music and cheer.
