The Kingsbury Culinary Challenge 2014, produced outstanding results displayed by the hotel’s Food and Beverage and Kitchen staff.
At this year’s competition, each contestant portrayed their skills and talents to bring a spectacular display of outstanding food preparation and artistic presentations.
The atmosphere at the competition was power-driven, highlighting the depth of talent and skill that The Kingsbury continues to produce. All contestants were able to showcase their skills in front of national and international judges as well as a fascinated audience.
Prasad Nilantha, Chaminda Dissanayake and Ganesh Dias won Gold Medals in the Live Cooking category while, Sanjaya Dileepa, Pasan Madushan Ekanayake and Ayesh D Chathuranga respectively won the first, second and third places of the Napkin Folding Competition. The winners of the Mocktail Competition were D P T D Dias, Amith Roshan and Shehan Kavinda who won the first, second and third places respectively.
Judges for the event included culinary masters Chef Koluu, Chef Chandrasena Sudusinghe, Chef Ranjith Morugama, Chef Gerard Mendis, Nishadha Pediyapperuma and Sisira Senaratne.
