Red lantern vigil, a traditional ceremony to welcome Christmas to the city was held at the Galle Face Hotel. Sanjeev Gardiner, Group Chairman of the Galle Face Hotel invited personnel from embassies, travel agents, corporate clients and other guests at the hotel to attend the red lantern vigil.
A procession of invitees and hotel guests carried red lanterns andlit the hotel premises to symbolically usher in Christmas.
This is an annual event at the hotel.
