Parallel to the annual spice food held in Sri Lanka, Grand Oriental Hotel will host an Italian food festival this year. Chef Walter Bilotta from Verona, Italy will spearhead the Italian food festival at the hotel from November 1, 2011 to November 7, 2011. Speaking about the festival Ruwan Withana, Executive Chef at Grand Oriental Hotel said, “Pasta, Pizza, Ravioli, special Italian sea food dishes and meat dishes will be highlighted with action stations where you can try out your own choice of pasta with sauce from Chef Bilotta’s hand.” The hotel will treat its guests to a Mongolian Stir Fry night every thursday from 7.30pm onwards. Speaking about the promotion Chef Withana said, “Mongolia is a country surrounded by mountains and they use chunks of meat in their main dishes. We produce meat dishes with vegetables and add a spicy Sri Lankan touch.” In the month of December the hotel will present the Harbour Trail 2011, 31st night Dinner Dance with entertainment provided by ‘Cool Set’.
