Bocuse d’Or Sri Lanka has selected Chef Buddhika Samarasekara and Apprentice Chef Isuru Sampath, to represent Sri Lanka at the 15th Bocuse d’Or Asian Competition, which is scheduled to take place in Shanghai June, 2012. Four candidates from the Asian competition will be selected for the finals in Lyon, France to be held in January 2013, where they will compete against the best chefs from all over the world.
The judging panel of the competition comprised, Otto Weibel, President – Bocuse d’Or Asia, Christophe Megel, President – Bocuse d’Or Singapore, Nigel Austin, Shyamalee Tudawe and Michel Sealen.
Chef Buddhika has won many awards and medals at Food Asia 2010, Dilmah Tea Culinary, Black Box and at other award ceremonies. He has nine years of experience in fine dining with overseas exposure.
