The third consecutive Tourism Leaders Summit and International Research Symposium will be held on October 3 and 4, 2017 at the BMICH.
The decision was made by the organisers and strategic partners, alumni of the Department of Tourism Economics and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Economics, University of Colombo as well as the Ministry of Tourism.
This year, the Tourism leaders summit and international research symposium will be held under the timely theme ‘Sustainable Tourism for Development – Way forward for Sri Lanka.’ The global theme of the UN World Tourism Organisation for 2017 is also ‘Sustainable Tourism for Development.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism Development and Sri Lanka Tourism. Nearly 1000 industry professionals are expected to take part in the summit. There is also a special line-up of events to coincide with the symposium.
Relevant topics for Sri Lankan tourism including ‘Global diplomacy Sri Lanka Tourism 2020’, ‘Sri Lanka Tourism 2025’ as well as ‘Key driving forces for future of Sri Lanka tourism 2020’ will be deliberated. Pragmatic methods to achieve sustainable tourism will be discussed as well.
