The culinary team of Hilton Colombo secured several awards, including the Best Regional Culinary Team, at the 14th Culinary Art Competition 2011. The total number of medals won by Hilton Colombo was 53.
The awards for Best Chef, Best five Course Set Dinner and Best Plated Appetizers were won by Chamaka Perera. Sheran Liyanamodarage bagged the awards for Best Apprentice Hot Cooking Live and Best Apprentice. The award for Best Hot Cooking Live was picked up by Viraj Perera. Kusum Fernando was awarded for the Best Petit Fours Pralines. Champika Rajapaksha won the Best Butter Sculpture award. Raja Selvanayagam and Kumarasiri Hewamalawige jointly won the award for Best New Sri Lankan Cooking. Ayeasha Paiva and Janaka Bandara were awarded Top Gold in the Dilmah Tea Gastronomic Challenge.
