Sri Lanka’s popular children’s television programme Muthuhara broadcast by Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, selected Cinnamon Grand’s Nuga Gama – (the Village in the City) for their first live broadcast this year.
This is the first time a hotel has been selected as a venue for this children’s programme, since its inception 30 years ago. The programme has a membership of over 600,000 children from different regions of Sri Lanka as well as overseas.
“Nuga Gama was chosen to televise the first broadcast for the year, given its strong affiliation with children and the many programmes conducted by the Nuga Gama team to inculcate a sense of pride and appreciation about Sri Lanka’s rich culture, heritage and environment,” said Udantha Gunathilake, Producer of Muthuhara.
The one-hour show, broadcast Island wide featured a segment on Nuga Gama and its many attractions and was presented by children. Over 100 Muthuhara members as well as their parents participated at the event held at Nuga Gama, Cinnamon Grand.
