The rear view of the Resort

As I entered the Thaproban Pavilion Resort and Spa, the façade with a simple yet elegant touch, grasped my attention. Stepping inside and walking along the passageway, I marvelled at the sight before me. The ocean was sparkling in the setting sun—bidding adieu to an eventful day—and I stood there indulging in the calmness of the scenery.

The Thaproban Pavilion Resort and Spa nestled along the Unawatuna Beach in Galle stands out as a unique property of the Thambapanni Leisure Group offering a distinctive experience of luxury and tranquilllity to travellers.

Overlooking the Galle Fort, the architecture of the building is entirely based on giving the guests a feeling of the bygone Dutch era. As you enter, your attention is directed to the massive canvas depicting a Galle street of the colonial era. Its vibrant shades and the colour combination illuminate the reception area with a touch of liveliness and glamour. The corridor at the entrance, which is centred by rooms on either side, gives a feeling as if you are walking on a street passing small houses—yet again highlighting the influence of the Galle Fort.

The end of the passageway welcomes you to the pool area of the Thaproban Pavilion set amidst the backdrop of the Indian Ocean where the waves hit natural yet massive rocks, spraying droplets of water all around. Beyond the pool, the exclusivity of the resort is highlighted with a private beach area, which is a special and much-favoured space of guests to pamper in serenity and comfort.

The furniture of the resort are hand-picked antiques and the paintings hung on the walls emphasise the Dutch concept that pervades through the Pavillion. Further, the gymnasium and the ayurvedha spa located on the third floor with an enthralling view, extend you not only relaxation but also vigour and wellbeing.

Thaproban Pavilion consists of 16 suite rooms constructed to give guests the finest of Dutch architecture and the best of facilities. The two Pool Pavilion rooms are located at the ground floor, close to the pool. The four Pavilion Residence rooms and the two Ocean Pavilion rooms offer the best opportunity to steal the finest sea views. The eight Duplex suites are divided as four Centre Pavilions and four Premier Pavilions, both the categories having two rooms each and are ideal for families. Each of these suites are arranged in an impressive style with all necessities, providing a comfortable expanse for guests to relax.
